What is MatchProduct?

MatchProduct is an online business-to-business marketplace that offers companies of all sizes an easy and convenient way to develop or expand sales distribution for select products, and/or to find new product opportunities to expand their own product lines.


MatchProduct has built a niche of working with companies in need of product distribution for off-strategy, outlier or under utilized products that are unique and/or patented. MatchProduct helps these companies by making their products available to other companies for wholesale, license or acquisition. The result is a win - win for both companies.

Who created MatchProduct?

MatchProduct.com is a sister company of InventionHome.com. Invention Home helps new or experienced inventors through the invention and patent process with the goal of securing licensing agreements for their inventor clients. After years of building a network comprised of thousands of companies seeking innovative products, Invention Home discovered the tremendous need to help not only inventors, but also client companies with innovative products in need of distribution. After being approached by many companies in need of distribution for their products, the company created matchproduct.com as a free business-to-business marketplace to connect companies with unique, patented or off-strategy products to other companies looking to expand product lines.


Who would use MatchProduct?

MatchProduct is a business-to-business marketplace designed to help companies of all sizes create or expand product distribution or discover new products to grow their businesses. Companies using MatchProduct are looking for other companies to wholesale their product in bulk, license intellectual property rights or divest the product. Additionally, these companies use the site as a source for discovering new products to expand their businesses.


What are the requirements to use MatchProduct?

Since MatchProduct is a business-to-business marketplace for buying and selling products, the products listed must be finished goods that are ready for sale. Finished goods are defined as products with inventory ready for sale or finished factory samples ready to be ordered from the factory or supplied to a buyer.

 

Inventions or products in the conceptual or development stage, business ideas, services or methods are not eligible for MatchProduct. Individual inventors are permitted to list inventions as long as they have met the “finished goods” requirement outlined above.

Finally, products containing or related to illegal, pornography and sexual activities or include profane or offensive language are prohibited.


How much does It cost to use MatchProduct?

MatchProduct is a FREE marketplace website. A company can list as many products as they want for FREE. We only ask a commission if we are successful in facilitating the product[s] sale/license. To view our commission agreement click here. Commission percentages are as follows:

  • Distribution / wholesale agreements (company orders inventory from you) - 5% of net sales
  • Licensing or sales agreements – 20% of royalty revenue or sales proceeds

You will be prompted to approve our standard commission agreement when listing product.


Login and Account Setup

How do I get started listing products?

First, create an account by signing up for an account. Once you have an account, log in with your username and password and locate the “list a product” link on the right side of each page. The system will prompt you for information about your product – description, images, company info, etc. Once you hit the “submit” button, your product listing will be added to our online catalog and will be sent automatically to companies seeking products in the category you selected for your product. After your product is listed, MatchProduct’s marketing team will proactively work with buying companies to sell your product.


How do I use MatchProduct to find new products?

You may search our website by selecting the “Catalog” tab or by using the search boxes to choose categories that interest you. We recommend that you register to receive product eAlerts for the category of products that you are interested in. An eAlert is an email notification alerting you that a company has posted a new product in your noted categories of interest. It’s fast and easy, and keeps you on top of the latest products in your categories of interest. The eAlerts service is FREE.


Can I change my username?

No. Usernames cannot be changed on MatchProduct.com. This is the one thing that identifies you when selling product or requesting info on products of interest.


I can't remember my password, What should I do?

At the top of every page is a link for “My Account,” which will take you to the login screen. Click the "Reset your password” link then enter your username and email address and the system will send a confirmation to your email address. The email contains a confirmation link to affirm your request. Click the link and a temporary password will be sent to your email account.


I can't remember my username, can I still login?

At the top of every page is a link for “My Account,” which will take you to the login screen. Click the “Forgot your username?” link. Enter your email and your username will be sent directly to the email address on your account.


How do I change my password?

After you are logged in to your account, click the “Edit Profile” link located in the “My Account” menu in the right column. On the “Edit Profile” page there is a section for changing your password. You will need to enter your current password, new password then confirm your new password.


How do I change the email address for my account?

After you are logged in to your account click the “Edit Profile” link located in the “My Account” menu in the right column. On the “Edit Profile” page there is a section for “Contact Information” where you can update your email address.


How do I change my mailing address?

After you are logged in to your account click the “Edit Profile” link located in the “My Account” menu in the right column. On the “Edit Profile” page there is a section for “Contact Information” where you can update your mailing address.


How do I delete my account?

Are you sure? If you really want to delete your account, please contact Support@matchproduct.com and we'll accommodate your needs. Be sure to send the message from the email address in your MatchProduct account and provide us with your MatchProduct username.


Can I close my account to start a new one?

Yes. We can close the account for you so that you can open a new one, but you will need to use a different email address and none of your information will be carried over. For security reasons usernames and emails can't be reused once they are in our system. Please contact Support@matchproduct.com if you would like to close your account.


Can I have more than one account?

Yes. Having more than one account ("multiple accounts" or "alternate accounts") is not something MatchProduct encourages, as it has the potential to cause confusion. Keep in mind that accounts cannot be merged in any way, so if you change your mind later, you will not be able to transfer information (such as listings, feedback or purchase history) from one account to another.


I don't seem to be receiving any email from MatchProduct. What should I do?

There are a few things you can do to help ensure our emails get through:

  • Make sure your email address on file is correct. If this address isn't correct, we can't contact you and neither can buyers.
  • Check your spam/junk folder to see if our emails were diverted by your email client.
  • Add MatchProduct's email addresses to your address book. This will ensure our emails aren’t sent to your spam/junk folder. We recommend adding the following addresses to your contacts list: info@matchproduct.com, support@matchproduct.com, marketing@matchproduct.com, press@matchproduct.com, webmaster@matchproduct.com and marketing@matchproduct.com.
  • Let us know if you think you're missing an email from MatchProduct by contacting Support@matchproduct.com

If I forgot my username and/or password and/or email address. What can I do?

Contact Support@matchproduct.com and ask for help. Keep in mind we'll need some way for you to prove ownership of the account. If you've lost all your information, you'll have to re-register.
