Getting a grip with evo.OTware.
People can now more easily manage at the table with the new and patented evo.OTware. We believe that the evo.grip makes the most possible use of hand and strength- Independence.
evo.OTware makes it easiest for any person when strength and mobility are impaired.
The evo.grip also creates a unique axis for the utensil within the hand, allowing for multiple gripping configurations and postures. The evo.OTware handle can be rotated within the hand giving the user utmost flexibility and control. Independence, here it comes….
The new ergonomic shape quickly becomes recognizable as a reliable source of utensil comfort and control. Our products are designed by the hand.
Ergonomic & Universal in design, the dishwasher ’safe’ utensils (to 180°) will fit into anyone’s daily lifestyle and provide years of service. (Tested to over 500 dish washings). The patented grip gives tremendous advantage over all other utensils; making your utensils e-z to pick up, easier to hold, and easiest to control.
evo.ware cutlery is also e-z to clean, and they will fit into most utensil drawer slots. It is made from the FDA approved space age material. Tough Eastman Tritan.
OTware Testimonials and Explanations.
Christopher Venezia OTR/L Clinical OT at Langone/NYU Hospital Medical Center.
Hey Chris: You told me that you see 5 new patients a day! Could you give me a list of what you believe to be the specific diagnosis where the evo.OTware will have greatest use?
“Diabetes…Raynaud's…MS…Parkinson's…Stroke with hemiplegia…Seizure disorders…Hand/Digit amputations…Arthritis…Low cervical/high thoracic spinal cord injury…TBI…Autism spectrum…The list goes on! The design model you prepared and we discussed will be universal. It will be useful for ANYONE with deficits involving prevention/dexterity & upper extremity muscular weakness. It will even be useful with development disorders.”

-Lindsey Biel, OTR/L and Author of Raising a Sensory Smart Child and Sensory Strategies for Children. Says of evo.OTware. “They are great!”
and continues…”The beauty of evo.OTware is that you don’t have to be able to have a neutral or extended wrist. So someone with a wrist contraction (due to arthritis, CP or whatever) could actually have a flexed wrist and still be able to use it. The real benefit is that you can eat with the evo.OTware regardless of your wrist position.
No grip feels quite as natural in your hand, whether or not you have a limited range of motion in your wrist or fingers. evo.OTware sits right in your palm. Position it up and out or straight down- whatever is most comfortable for your hand. Keep your index finger on top for extra control. And because it’s ergonomically designed with a grip that is dramatically easier than any traditional eating tool, evo.OTware makes eating less tiring and more pleasant.”

Mary Benbow, OTR/L. Lecturer and foremost authority in hand Ffunction. Author of Chapter XIV in the Mosby Medical Text, Hand Function and the Child.
“The knife holding position (diagonal volar grip) of the evo.OTware works well for many patients. The balance is shifted to the heel of the hand where power should not be a factor.
A diagonal volar grip is the knife holding grip where the handle rests against the middle, proximal palm (near wrist) with the index finger extended along the top of the blade. Using this grip gives good downward pressure for cutting.
This grip could be used with fork and spoon if the part that goes into the mouth were rotated in the handle. This could compensate for lack of midpalm posture that is hard for so many patients. Keep up the good work....and many thanks.” Warm regards, Mary Benbow
