LeuchtKraft GmbH from Stuttgart, Germany has developed a reading light for the glasses. It is called Nachteule® - the German night owl.
While reading in bed, on the couch, in the car, on a plane, in the garage, or on a camping trip, the small reading light turns out to be a clever companion. With only 8 Grams (0.3 oz.) in weight, it is light as a feather and clips to any pair of glasses. With true 40 hours of battery life, continuous reading is finally made possible.
It took 35 prototypes and two years of hard work, until Nachteule® was introduced to the market. To best match customers' needs, many surveys have been carried out. Most parts of Nachteule® are being manufactured within only 30 miles from Stuttgart!
Where other businesses would seek cost benefits, such as in Asia, LeuchtKraft GmbH wants to lead as a positive example. Despite the global crisis, the idea and the motivation of the team convinced two investors to support the start-up.
Since October 2009, LeuchtKraft GmbH cooperates with one of Germanys biggest editors "Deutscher Apotheker Verlag“. Opticians throughout Europe are being supplied by the biggest distributor in Germany called “MailShop”.
Finally, all the hard work and perfection was honored when Nachteule® received in December 2009 the "Product Design Award 2010“, and soon after the world famous," RedDot Design Award 2010“.
